About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Portland, Oregon graduating with an MSW from Portland State University in 2012. I have been in private practice since 2017 serving adults living with trauma related conditions, such as PTSD and acute traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, attachment challenges, major life transitions and personal growth. As a clinical social worker trained in trauma recovery and other effective modalities and as a previous first responder myself, I am uniquely suited to provide trauma recovery services to people who have experienced traumatic events such as police officers, firefighters and medical personnel.

I am a "seasoned"  therapist, bringing over a 20 years of combined experience providing intensive mental health therapy to at risk children & adolescents, adults and families in urban and rural outpatient mental health clinics, schools, residential settings and within the criminal justice system. I have completed post graduate training in a variety of trauma recovery, cognitive, behavioral and somatic based interventions with mindfulness stress reduction at the core of my approaches.

In addition, I have been trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which is a very powerful trauma recovery technique that has been shown to resolve the trauma response and other mental health conditions in 1-3 sessions.

Important Fact
I follow the code of ethics of the National Association of Social Workers and I am accountable to the Board of Licensed Clinical Social Workers of Oregon. This ensures that I am regularly pursuing education and training opportunities that help me and my work stay current and relevant.

Fun Fact
I have maintained a personal mindfulness meditation practice on and off for over 25 years as a way to heal my mind and body. I have found that the application of mindfulness strategies can help reduce suffering. I know it isn't always easy but with support and practice, you can likely reduce your suffering.

When I am not in my office,  I am hiking a trail, camping under trees, paddling my SUP, enjoying a sunset, dreaming of the ocean or out and about with my Bull Terrier pup, Harper. (see left)
